Associate Medical Director | Relevate Health

WHO WE ARE

At Relevate Health, we believe every HCP communication should be relevant, and we've built a company of exceptional people committed to making that vision a reality. We're healthcare communications experts who push ourselves every single day to deliver meaningful scientific and medical education for the clients, providers, and patients who depend on us. Our culture is collaborative, growth-minded, and energized by purpose.

We're not a company where you stay in one lane. Our Associate Medical Directors work across therapeutic areas, stretch their scientific range, and do work that genuinely reaches HCPs and impacts patient care. If you're someone who thrives on variety, wants to be challenged, and is looking for a place where scientific expertise is at the core of everything — read on.

THE OPPORTUNITY

We're looking for an Associate Medical Director to join our team and serve as a key scientific resource across both our Agency and Engagement Solutions practices. This role puts you at the intersection of science, strategy, and collaboration — developing and reviewing high-quality medical content across a range of accounts and therapeutic areas, and partnering with cross-functional teams to bring that content to life.

You'll own scientific deliverables from outline through final delivery. You'll be the medical voice in the room — partnering with account, editorial, design, and project management colleagues — and you'll bring that same credibility and expertise into client-facing settings. No two projects look alike here, and that's exactly the point.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Serve as the primary scientific resource on assigned accounts, providing strategic and tactical medical expertise across a wide range of deliverables for both Agency and Engagement Solutions
  • Develop, write, and review scientific and medical content, including slide decks, medical education programs, advisory board materials, manuscripts, symposia content, and more
  • Conduct thorough medical/scientific reviews to ensure accuracy, clarity, and alignment with client objectives and regulatory standards
  • Partner closely with cross-functional teams — account management, editorial, design, and project management — to support seamless execution from outline through final delivery
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, showing up as a credible, trusted scientific partner in calls and meetings
  • Stay current on the evolving therapeutic landscape, competitive intelligence, and product-level data across multiple therapeutic areas
  • Contribute scientific input to proposals, pitch materials, and new business initiatives as needed
  • Consistently meet project deadlines and provide clear, timely feedback to keep projects on track

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

Must-Haves:

  • Advanced degree: PhD, PharmD, or MD
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in medical communications, a pharmaceutical/biotech company, or a healthcare agency
  • Demonstrated scientific breadth across multiple therapeutic areas
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills — you can take complex data and make it clear, compelling, and accurate
  • Experience working closely with non-scientific team members (account managers, designers, editors) on cross-functional deliverables
  • Proven ability to juggle multiple projects and deadlines without dropping the ball
  • Client-facing experience with a track record of earning trust as a scientific partner

Big Pluses:

  • Experience supporting both promotional and medical education deliverables
  • Familiarity with pharmaceutical regulatory and compliance standards
  • Comfort in a fast-paced, multi-client agency environment

Education:

  • Advanced degree required: PhD, PharmD, or MD
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant industry experience (agency or pharma)

Travel is required as business needs demand in support of both Engagement Solutions and Agency accounts.
